There are several components that make up our daily lives (i.e. sleep, nutrition, family, exercise, hobbies, work, etc.). Often hectic or busy schedules make it challenging to maintain that elusive healthy balance everyone talks about. Balance is a tricky thing that takes continual adjustment to achieve or more importantly, to maintain. Family, work, nutrition, exercise, the list can and does go on for miles. So, when you’re thinking about your lifestyle which components fall by the wayside first?
Not surprisingly, for many people the answer is of regular exercise or activity and nutrition. According to the CDC only 20.9% of adults over the age of 18 met the Physical Activity Guidelines for both aerobic and muscle-strengthening activity. Is this really due to a lack of hours in the day? Or is it due to lack of knowledge and motivation? I’m going to argue it is more the latter.
Activity can take on many different forms. Weight lifting, running, sport, vacuuming, gardening, walking, hiking… The point is to get up and moving around. Exercise variety is key to long term success.
Many individuals lose motivation if they do the same activities over and over. I don’t blame them, I do too. It’s simply boring. That’s why at FITLIFE we focus on activity diversity. We understand that doing the same thing over and over is not only monotonous, it is not as physically beneficial. After a period of time your body will become used to your program. This is why people see large gains when first working out, whether that is by dropping a few pounds or being able to lift heavier weights. Your body will continue the plateau unless new stresses (i.e. new exercises, heavier weights, etc.) are placed upon it. This is where our team and facility comes into play.
Our goal is to help you achieve yours. Whether that is losing 20 pound, climbing a mountain, competing in a race, or just maintaining a healthy lifestyle, we have you covered. Our LifeStyle Management clients enjoy our diverse staff and wide breadth of exercises. We continually look for the most effective and proven exercises to enhance and diversify your program. Just as life has many facets, so does the program and care you receive as one of our clients. Live. All in.™ is more than just our tagline. We are here to take the burden of exercise off your shoulders and to motivate you through the work. So, give us a call and get your first week free.
