Today I am visiting with a a very good friend and FITLIFE Health Systems client, Dr. Marc Bloomenstein, at his office in Scottsdale. Marc is an avid fitness enthusiast who was referred to FITLIFE 3 years ago by our next door neighbors, Foothills Sports Medicine and Physical Therapy. Marc began his journey with us in our Functinal Training Program continuing his rehabilitation exercises to return to his fitness activities including hiking, jogging and resistance training. Because of his commitment to fitness, he recovered from his injury, and now continues to use our LifeStyle Management program to improve his overall fitness level. Another busy client with a demanding schedule Marc makes time for himself 3 times a week!
The word busy doesn’t do his schedule justice. Overloaded is probably closer to his weekly routine. Along with his hectic schedule of seeing patients at the clinic, he lectures across the country on numerous anterior segment and refractive topics. He is also on the editorial board of Primary Care of Optometry and Contemporary Optometry and is the President of the Board of the Arizona Optometric Charitable Foundation! Somehow he also found time to serve as the President of the Arizona Optometric Association and Optometric Advisor to STAAR Surgical and Medtronic Solan. Can you say overachiever?
Like most of us, Dr. Bloomenstein isn’t a native of Arizona, instead he was raised in Southern California. Yes, he is a Dodgers fan and was left feeling empty after the World Series loss to the Astro’s. We all felt bad for his misery – not! Anyway, Marc graduated from UCLA with a degree in Biology in 1990 then attended the New England College of Optometry, graduating with a degree in Optometric Medicine. To further his education, he decided to come to Phoenix to complete his residency in Secondary Opthalmic care at the Barnet Dulaney Perkins Eye Center. Finally, he received his fellowship from the American Academy of Optometry in 1998 and is a founding member of the Optometric Council of Refractice Technology.
Wow, seriously, he does all of this and still works out religiously? You bet, along with his wife Jill, you can find Marc here at FITLIFE on a regular basis. With a quick wit and dry sense of humor, our other clients and staff enjoy bantering with him over sports, music and his beloved Bruins. His energy seems endless and he is a great addition to the fun filled atmosphere at FITLIFE. Jill you’re a saint!
I hope you enjoyed meeting another FITLIFE client today. We are fortunate to have so many awesome clients! As your reading this laying on your couch from that Thanksgiving meal yesterday, maybe you should get up and get moving. What do you think?
Have a safe and healthy weekend. See you next week!
