Goulash is a hearty and wholesome winter dish that if you’ve never tired I highly recommend this quick and simple recipe. It’s not only delicious it’s a little uncoventional.
- 1 pound chuck roast, diced
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 16 oz can whole tomatoes, chopped
- 12 oz tomato juice
- 2-3 yukon gold potatoes or one small package of spiral pasta (pasta pre-cooked)
- 1/2 t sweet basil
- Salt & pepper to taste
Brown chuch roast in non-stick frying pan. Drain most of grease. Then add all remaining ingredients to meat. Cook covered until potatoes are tender. This may take an hour or more. The longer it simmered the richer the flavor. Or when ingredients are thoroughly warmed add pre-cooked pasta. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
