Today I visited with volleyball player Lily Leistiko, who has been training with us the past four years. Lily is recent Desert Mountain High School graduate who’s successful high school career included both academic and athletic accomplishments.

Lily has pushed herself these past four years earning a 4.0 or higher every year academically and playing varsity volleyball since her sophomore year. She also has played club volleyball and found time to workout 2-3 times a week here at Fitlife! Her drive and competitiveness landed her an academic scholarship at Division I Winthrop University in Rock Hill, South Carolina. Lily has been admitted to the Honors College and is going to study Biochemistry.

As a 3 year Varsity player at DMHS playing Middle Blocker, Lily was recognized her senior year earning the coaches award. She also was selected All City and All Region – 2nd Team this past year.  Lily’s club teams qualified for the National Tournament 3 times including Revolution and Spiral Volleyball.

As most athletes can attest injuries are part of playing sports and Lily has had a few her self. She has persevered through these set backs by working hard and pushing forward. She has been a constant here at Fitlife these past 4 years and we will miss her hard work and big smile. We wish her all the best at Winthrop – go Eagles!

I hope you have enjoyed meeting Lily Leistiko, an outstanding young lady who will do big things in the future.

Have a safe and healthy weekend!
