FITLIFE With Yoga Instructor Angella Tortorici


On Wednesday afternoon from 12pm-1pm I get to spend an hour with our awesome Yoga instructor, Angella Tortorici.  Angella has been teaching this Vinyassa class for almost two years and it’s always a good challenge for both the mind and body.  We have anywhere from 3-8 participants with both beginner and advanced students.  If you find time on a Wednesday during lunch and want to relieve stress stop in and join us! 

Angella has been practicing Yoga since the early age of 12.  She has an educational background that is varied, including art, design and aesthetics.  She is an extremely active person who enjoys the outdoors, especially hiking and camping. Angella maintains a high level of fitness through running and high intensity training.  These activities serve her well in the discipline of Yoga as her strength and flexibility are evident when demonstrating for us in class.

Her training as an instructor was completed in February of 2014 through the highly regarded Dave Astanga Teacher Training here in Scottsdale and Angella continues to increase her yoga knowledge by attending additional classes.  She has currently completed her 500th hour through Spirit of Yoga in Tempe and is enrolled in an 800 hour yoga therapy program at Southwest Institute of Healing Arts, with emphasis on Yoga Therapy, Yoga Nidra, Reiki and Holistic Nutrition Coaching.  Angella currently teaches Hot, Flow, Vinyassa and Power classes at 7 different locations across the Valley.  Somehow she also finds time to blog about nutrition and raise money for animal shelters (Puppies to the Rescue) around the valley by teaching yoga classes and donating the proceeds.
