During my 20 years of directing FITLIFE, I have continually thought about ways to improve our services and facilities and more recently how to help our members achieve our vision for each of them to “Live. All In.” When thinking of that phrase, it begs the question, are we providing our members the training, motivation, information and guidance that they need to succeed in their ability to fulfill this motto. Each person’s individual plan varies but the cornerstones remain the same. The exercise technique we are highlighting this week is one of my personal favorite all inclusive TRX moves. The TRX single leg squat to plank to press is a fairly high level move that requires focus to execute correctly.
Today I spent some time with a truly remarkable woman, FITLIFE client Joanne Young. Joanne walked into our first office on 85th Way and Royal Palm on April 4th, 1998 and has been a staple here ever since! What? Today it’s a beautiful 75 degree day in centerfield where Anton Mackey is leading a yoga class of 65 players from the Horizon High School Baseball team. This is the 6th straight year that he has been instructing a 1 hour Vinyasa class for the program in the month of January, and it’s seriously the highlight of their off season training! On Wednesday afternoon from 12pm-1pm I get to spend an hour with our awesome Yoga instructor, Angella Tortorici. Angella has been teaching this Vinyassa class for almost two years and it’s always a good challenge for both the mind and body.
